Upcoming Shows & Events

Friday, December 1:  The Blake Rosso Band

Our Fall vacation is over and we’re ready to kick off the winter with a bang.  The first of our Winter Events is one of our favorites: The Blake Rosso Band.  They’re a five-piece Americana band of local talent, bringing foot-stomping energy with their wide array of instruments, strong vocals and distinct musical backgrounds including bluegrass, folk, jazz, theater and heavy metal. Blake Rosso is on guitar and vocals, Jim Coffman on fiddle and mandolin, Sig Escholtz on bass, Beau Lisy on percussion and Brittany Parker from the Barn Arts Collective on vocals and ukulele. Come join us and bring your friends for a fun night of music and dancing.  Doors open at 6pm, Band Starts at 7pm.  Coda will have a full bar and be featuring sausages by Colvard & Co.   $10 cover.

Friday, January 5:  GoldenOak

We’re thrilled to have GoldenOak making their Quietside debut at Coda.  With fascinating harmonies and instrumentation, GoldenOak has been making splashes across the New England indie scene since releasing their first album in 2016. Fronted by sibling duo Zak and Lena Kendall, the band’s woodsy, modern folk style calls to mind the dense forests and rugged coastline of Maine, where the group was formed. Since the band was founded as a collaboration between childhood friends – Zak and cellist Seth Wegner-  GoldenOak has built outwards from their foundational blend of acoustic guitar, cello, cajón drum, and trumpet. What started as homegrown folk in 2013 has evolved into a regal and sophisticated sound in Foxgloves (2017), defined by rich four-part harmonies and versatile reinterpretation of the folk genre. Doors open at 6, Band Starts at 7pm.  Coda will have a full bar and be featuring sausages by Colvard & Co.   $10 cover.

Friday, January 12:  StandUp MDI

Think you’re funny? Want to see the funniest people around? Want to check off ‘try stand up comedy’ off your bucket list in 2018? Join emcee Nicole Ouellette for a night of local standup where you (or your friends) can try stand up comedy without having to drive hours to an amateur night or sit through grueling classes.  Ready to get on stage? Prepare your five minute set and come to Coda. First come, first signup.
And if you just want to watch, drinks and apps (in addition to entertainment) will be available off Coda’s fun and delicious menu. Remember this is ONE TIME ONLY so if you want to support local comedy, you need to show up. If this is successful, it might happen again but for now, this is your chance to make it count- and make your community laugh.
Doors open at 6:00.  There will be a $10 cover.  To learn more, visit the Coda Facebook page or www.codasouthwestharbor.com . And we hope to see you there!

Friday, January 19:  Songwriter Showcase

We all know that Downeast Maine boasts an amazing concentration of musical talent, but it is not often easy to get to hear them perform original compositions.  So Blake Rosso (who has some tasty original pieces of his own) will bring together a lineup of 4 or 5 local artists to present an evening of their music. Doors open at 6pm, music starts at 7pm.  Coda will have a full bar and be featuring sausages by Colvard & Co.   $10 cover.

Friday, January 26:  Game Night at Coda

Hosted by Julie and Jonathan Meltzer.
