After growing up in Vermont and attending culinary school in New Hampshire, Carter moved to Jackson, WY, to experience the mountain life in the Rockies. While there, he worked under the close supervision of esteemed Chef Paul O’Conner. After years of working with Paul, he moved to Park City, UT, to run Silver Restaurant, an upscale, modern dining experience in the heart of the downtown. After several years as the Executive Chef, Carter decided to move back to the east coast, bringing his passion for food, knowledge of cooking, and understanding of the restaurant business to Coda.
Brandon grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was working in a hospital cafeteria when his culinary spark was ignited. He decided to pursue a culinary arts degree in Connecticut, and his college internship brought him to the Bar Harbor Inn. He wasn’t planning on staying in the area, but a few years later, he is still here. In 2010, Brandon landed a role at Fathom, a new fine dining, farm-to-table restaurant. There, under the mentorship of chefs Josh Heikkinen and Bobby Will, he gained the necessary skills and momentum to bring his competitive spirit to the Bar Harbor culinary scene. He earned the title of Head Chef in Fathom’s last year of business, ending with their best year ever.
While installing flooring in the new Coda building, Brandon met Carter and joined the Coda team. Great things are to come of a fateful meeting of this ingenious culinary duo.
